The people of this mountainous southeastern region of china are responsible for some truly stunning architecture. The Hakka built the Tuluo houses between the 12th and 20th centuries and are courtyard centered, having up to 70 rooms. The photograph above is a room from slave quarters from the Aiken Rhett house. They decided to preserve the site rather than restore it. Its one of the most haunting and beautiful places I've ever seen.
